Henkel AG's Dial Corp. over claims its Tri Scents products infringe a patent, reports
Bloomberg News.
S.C. Johnson, the maker of the Glade air-freshener line, is seeking an injunction stopping Dial's actions and unspecified damages in the lawsuit filed yesterday in federal court in Madison, Wisconsin.
Growing demand for air fresheners has led to legal disputes in the $1.98 billion annual U.S. market. Dial, the maker of Renuzit products, and Procter & Gamble Co. both have pending lawsuits against S.C. Johnson over its Glade line. Dial has also sued Procter & Gamble, the world's largest consumer-products company, in an effort to invalidate a separate patent.
